A day of sightseeing today. Dad is full of a cold so stayed at home, but Dave, Michele and I ventured out.
First stop - Tregwynt Mill
Wales is world renowned for it’s weaving and textile heritage, and nothing exemplifies this more than the double weave tapestry bedcover, unique to Wales and our culture. Genuine Welsh tapestry is woven on large mechanical looms in one of the 12 mills still found in Wales.Textile production has been at the heart of Welsh village life for centuries, taking place in cottages, outhouses and sitting rooms. Few communities existed without the rattle of the spinning wheel or the clank of the small home loom, providing a backdrop to Welsh rural life. Wales proved the perfect country for making woollen textiles, due to fast flowing mountain streams providing power, and of course the sheep to provide their cosy fleeces.

And then it was on to the lovely seaside town of Porthgain...
So it was a good thing we had a walk around the harbour...
