Pavia di Cortosa and Vigevano

Off sight seeing again, first to the nearby monastery at Pavia...

and then on to the piazza at Vigevano.
The piazza in sleepy Vigevano was surprisingly big and very beautiful, but virtually deserted.

The countryside in this part of Italy is flat and such a contrast to the mountains around Cinque Terre.  Corn and rice seem to be the main crops, along with forrest trees of birch and maple.  We were planning on a picnic lunch by a river, but first couldn't find the place and then when we finally got there couldn't find a car park!

We decided to call it a day and just headed back to our accommodation for some more relaxing whilst the kids fed the horse, chicken and goats and entertained themselves for ages in a hammock. Good kiddies J.
