What can I say!! Business Class on Qatar airways is the BEST!! Dad is a seasoned BC traveller and thinks Qatar just pips Emirates at the post and put it down to the food and I have to agree. Felt like fine dining in a Michelin start restaurant. Note the candle effect. Heaven.
Bottom L: a single mouthful of deliciousness, Above: Entree - phenomenal sashimi with a sesame dressing. Top R: Amazeballs Osso Bucco - all washed down with a French Rose. Heaven again!
Watched a total of 4 movies en route - The Life of Chuck (loved it), The Friend (good), A complete Unknown (very good) and Oppenheimer (loved it).
BottomL: Indescribably good Basque Cheesecake, Top L: Breakie the next day (well 4 hours later 😀), Above: me in my Qatar Jimmy Jams
We changed planes in Doha from a Boeing 777 to a huge two level Airbus 380, which had slightly more comfortable flat beds but less privacy so overall equal. And both had the same outstanding food.
It was around midnight when we arrived for our 2 hour layover in the stunning Doha Airport. Dad plonked in the lounge. I had a shower! and then wandered around. Just stunning....
Bottom L: duty free Mclaren
Fairy lit pathways above a tropical forest and below a stunning rolling roofline. Spacious oppulent shops and Gillie and Marc sculptures. It was a long way from our lounge to the departure gate so as you do we took a train! Inside the Airport!!
We landed at Heathrow at 6:25am, picked up the hire car and scammed a free upgrade from a Vauxall Corsa to a Hyundai Kona then spent 25 minutes in the car park trying to work out how to close the boot and take off the handbrake before heading off to Bristol via Reading 😖😝
Lunch was at the Whitehorse Pub just outside our destination in Winterbourne...
Yummy sandwiches but probably could have done with just half each. Also couldn't help but feel the prices should have been dollars not pounds. And our waiter was a lovely young guy from Texas, over here to join UK airforce as a trainee helicopter pilot. Such a nice person.
