Fri 5 - Osaka / Kurashiki

Up and at 'em and out the door at around 9:30am, heading for the sensory delights of Kuromon Markets.  On arrival we each skulled a Yakkult each - trying to fix poor Danny P's Hershey Squirts (disclaimer - am drafting this after a single can of G&T).  The markets were good for piccies....

Bottom left - Steve eating a Melon Bread / Strawberry ice-cream sandwich for breakfast - as you do :)

And then it was off to view Osaka Castle.  I came up with an intricate but thorough subway/train/walk journey but in the 34 degree heat that was vetoed and instead we uber-ed a beautifully air conditioned taxi that dropped us right near the castle entrance. Luxury.

and after the castle it was another taxi ride (after another vetoing of a very thoroughly researched but long and hot subway/train/walk trip) to Shin-Osaka where we jumped on a very speedy Shinkansen to Okayama, quick change to a local line and 17 minutes later - wa la - we arrived in the very lovely Kurashiki.

BUT it was hot - damn hot - so we headed straight for our accomodation and a re-fresh before heading to the historic old part of town......

Dinner was from a tiny 7-Eleven equivalent called Daily Yazakami.  It was a veritable feast and our huge munch out cost around $35 for all of us.  Happy campers.
